Max Verstappen became the first Dutch driver to win the Formula One World Championship and the 34th Formula One World Drivers’ Champion after winning the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Verstappen has 26 victories and 15 pole positions as of the 2022 British Grand Prix. He completed his maiden Grand Slam in the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix. Verstappen has extended his contract with Red Bull until at least the conclusion of the 2028 season.
Are Max Verstappen and Alex Albon friends?
Both racers are friends as of 2022.
Alex Albon has provided insight into how F1 drivers manage to retain connections with each other off-track, which he feels is a good thing.
Many of the names on the grid have been racing together for several years, having participated in the same junior divisions on their journey to Formula 1. As a result, some drivers have known one another for a long period.
Albon concedes that the nature of their rivalry may have altered due to their new locations on the grid, but their relationships have mainly remained the same.
At the 2020 Tuscan Grand Prix, Alex Albion earned his maiden podium result also the first for a Thai driver in a World Championship Formula One event. Albon was demoted to a test and reserve driver role with Red Bull for 2021 after two seasons in Formula One, and Sergio Pérez took his place. Albon returns to Formula One with Williams in 2022.
