Eavis inherited the family property of 150 acres (61 ha) and 60 cows after his father died when he was 19 years old. He worked for a couple of years at Mendip Colliery in Nettlebridge or New Rock Colliery in Stratton-on-the-Fosse in the Somerset Coalfield to support his farm income.
This talks about his children.
Michael Eavis children: Emily Eavis, Patrick Eavis, Juliet Eavis, Rebecca Eavis, Jane Eavis
Emily Eavis, Patrick Eavis, Juliet Eavis, Rebecca Eavis, and Jane Eavis are known children of Eavis.
Eavis attributes his political beliefs to a variety of factors, including nonconformist family traditions and his experience as a miner, during which he was a member of the National Union of Mineworkers.
He was active in creating a local unit of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in the early 1980s and later agreed to make the Glastonbury Festival a fundraiser for CND, as it was from 1981 to 1987.
Who are their mothers?
Eavis and his first wife Ruth had three daughters (Juliet, Rebecca, and Jane) before splitting up in 1964. He then married Jean Hayball, with whom he had two children: Patrick and Emily. Eavis married his third wife, Liz, after Jean died of cancer in 1999.
