One of Michael’s brothers, Jontay Porter, recently made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Jontay was banned for life from the NBA due to violating the league’s strict gambling rules. The NBA discovered that Jontay had disclosed confidential information to sports bettors, bet on NBA games, and limited his own participation in games for betting purposes. This behavior led to a severe punishment for the 24-year-old.
Another one of Michael’s brothers, Colban Porter, was sentenced to six years in prison for his involvement in a fatal DUI crash. Colban admitted to driving under the influence and causing the crash that resulted in the death of Katharina Rothman. Despite facing a tough sentence, Colban took full responsibility for his actions at his sentencing.
However, not all of Michael’s siblings have faced such challenges. His brother Jevon Porter is following in the family’s basketball legacy and is currently playing for the Loyalo Marymount University Lions. Jevon has been described as an elite talent with a bright future in the sport.
