Dermot O’Neill (died 1 July 2022) was an Irish gardener and editor of Garden Heaven magazine.
He appeared on several radio and television programs for RTÉ and BBC Northern Ireland and contributed regular columns for Irish newspapers and magazines including the RTÉ Guide, The Irish Times, Northern Ireland Homes & Lifestyle, and the Sunday Independent.

Dermot O’Neil is currently not alive, he, unfortunately, died on July 1, 2022, at the age of 58, after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.
O’Neill was diagnosed with cancer in 2009, which he initially thought to be a recurrence of a previous stomach ulcer, O’Neill was later diagnosed with stomach cancer and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
He was treated at Beacon Hospital and St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. O’Neill spent several months at St. Vincent’s and had to undergo chemotherapy under the care of Prof. John Crown. O’Neill was excited and had more hopes to live when he was declared cancer-free in 2011.
