Politics is tribal, rather than logical – Elon Musk

The creator of SpaceX, Elon Musk has recently leveled a number of criticisms against the Democratic administration.

“Politics is tribal, rather than logical,” he said in one, echoing reactions from commentators who suggested Americans follow politics too closely, much like they follow sports teams, and that the United States should do away with its two-party system.

Recently, Musk has also become active in local politics. He sent an email to Tesla workers in Austin, Texas, encouraging them to vote in the Democratic primary on Tuesday in order to remove José Garza, the city’s district attorney, by choosing a candidate who would “actually prosecute crimes.”

However, Jeremy Sylestine, Garza’s opponent, was unable to overcome the incumbent, who received 67 percent of the vote.

Elon Musk declared on Wednesday that he will not be contributing to the presidential candidates of the Democratic or Republican parties in 2024.

The Tesla CEO stated in an X post, “Just to be super clear, I am not donating money to either candidate for US President.” Musk made his announcement the day after The New York Times revealed that he had spent the weekend with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, as the former president looks to increase the financial clout of his campaign.

There has been mounting speculation as to whether Musk, the second richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of $200 million, would contribute money to Trump.
