E.L fires shots at parliamentarians over new Parliamentary Chamber Block

Rapper and record producer E.L has fired subliminal shots and lamented about the newly proposed Parliamentary Chamber Block by Ghanaian lawmakers.

The construction of the new chamber which is reportedly worth USD200 million has received massive backlash across social media.

The project which will be executed by Ghanaian-British architect Sir David Adjaye is said to be inspired by the Akan saying, “Ti kro nko agyina”, literally meaning, “two heads are better than one.”

According to Sir David, “This key concept is one that depicts the idea of Ghanaian democracy, where Parliament represents a body with various members interlocked in decision-making”.

But the “Higher” hitmaker believes there are more pertinent issues to deal with instead of blowing such a huge figure on a chamber.

He took to Twitter Wednesday, July 3, to say: “Finally!! We’ve succeeded in solving the unemployment problem, unreliable energy, poor education, poor infrastructure, corruption and low income! I’m so Glad to Hear we’re now getting a New Parliament building with Millions!! Our Priorities are so well Placed! Go Ghana.”

He added: “Perhaps after our New Parliament House Worth 200 Million Dollars of Hard earned Tax Payers Money is Spent. Govt can go on and deconstruct the Castle and replace it with a Beach resort, You know, for rest after those tedious deliberations! My Opinion. GoGhana.”

He is not the only celebrity to criticize the construction of the new chamber. The likes of John Dumelo and Yvonne Nelson have added their voices.
