It appears the several threats by the Disability Federation to sue him for his frequent mockery of the physically-challenged has not been enough to deter him from engaging in such mockery. Neither has the few hours of stay in the police cells barely a week ago been correctional enough to tame his wanton acts of tomfoolery.
The self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale is in the news once again for apparently mocking his bitterest rival, Stonebwoy’s disability. In a video Shatta Wale posted on his Instagram wall, he was seen with a friend mocking Stonebwoy. The video captures Shatta Wale making a congratulatory gesture towards his friend, and the latter reacts by limping amidst expressing a gesture that portrays him as mimicking Stonebwoy.
The shameful act by Shatta Wale and his friend could be seen as a reenactment of the fracas that occurred between the dancehall heavyweights at the just ended 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Their purported reenactment, which has even turned out to be a very shoddy one was clearly aimed at mocking Stonebwoy. Shatta Wale has since deleted the video on his wall but we managed to obtain it before he deleted it.
Below is the video:
Shatta Wale has been threatened on about about two (2) occasions by the Disability Federation with a suit but the threats seem not to be compelling enough as he continues to display unbridled insensitivity by consistently mocking his bitterest rival, Stonebwoy.
Unfortunately, anytime Shatta Wale engages in these condemnable acts, many influential commentators coil themselves into silence probably due to the fear of attacks from Shatta Wale. Undoubtedly, Shatta Wale is one of the greatest artistes to ever grace the microphone in this country. However, he is also one of the artistes to ever dump so much nuisance into our industry. Anytime he tows the tangent of the excesses, we must be honest and bold enough to condemn him for such acts.
The earlier we condemn these intolerable excesses, the better!
